eXo Products Roadmaps

This document is an overview of the roadmaps of eXo products for the next incoming versions.

The roadmaps given here are for information only and subject to change upon customer sponsorship.

eXo tries to have regular release cycle for all of its products :

• Expected minor release rate : 3 to 4 months
• Expected maintenance release rate : 1 month

Minor (x.y) releases introduce new features.

Maintenance (x.y.z) releases are maintainability releases that correct defects and bring smaller improvements. Those versions are only available to subscription customers

Portal

Release 2.5 : December 2008 (Released)

• Google Gadgets Consumer AND Producer
• GWT Support
• Dashboard portlet a la Netvibes
• New Application Registry with WebDAV editing support for the gadgets

Work In Progress

• New storage model for portal meta-data (leveraging more the JCR features)
• New UI for page editing
• News gadgets

ECM DMS

Release 2.3 : March 2008 (Released)

• Workflow engine refactors
• Right to Left (support of Arabic languages)
• Copy paste between drives
• Taxonomies support permissions
• The validation business process supports the publication framework
• The Browse Content Portlet supports the publication framework
• The Browse Content Portlet is equiped with use cases ("spaces" for an integration into eXo Spaces, "jailed" to force the usage of a drive)

Release 2.5 : July 2009

• UI Extension Framework (allows you to extend the file explorer by adding your own actions)
• Contextual action buttons in the File Explorer
• Full ergonomy review in the File Explorer
• New Taxonomy management
• Symbolic link implementation
• Google Gadgets showing the last edited/last published documents

ECM WCM

Release 1.0 : Decembre 2008 (Released)

• Inline editing

• Multimedia repository on JCR (with integration to WYSIWYG editor)
• Portal links (with integration to WYSIWYG editor)
